Sushi lovers are fanatical about their sushi. SoWal insiders and staff are always looking for a great place to pull up to the bar and take some Wasabi hits with fresh Ginger and amazing local seafood. Here’s the latest SoWal List with some of the best sushi in South Walton!

The Gathering Spot is a hidden gem located in the WaterColor Inn and Resort. Relax at one of the comfy tables inside or take a seat poolside by the fire pits. Order one of the signature cocktails to go with the amazingly fresh rolls. The Cowboy Roll and the Spicy Emerald Roll are very popular. The Gathering Spot offers a cozy, casual atmosphere perfect for after-work drinks and sushi, a first date, or even a meeting. Happy hour is from 5-6 p.m.


45 Central Wine and Sushi Bar, located in the heart of Seaside, Fla., is a sophisticated oasis for mixing, mingling or quietly relaxing with a glass of great wine and small plates. Tucked away in Seaside’s bustling central square, this beautiful wine bar is the perfect place for unwinding after a busy vacation day or a long day at work.

Old Florida Fish House is one of the most well-known spots in SoWal for sushi. The menu is extensive and diverse. The rolls are massive and perfect for sharing in large groups. Top sellers include the Amazon, the Backdown, the Lobster roll and the Uptown Beef roll when it’s available. After dinner, head over to the bar area and dance the night away to the sounds of the popular house band.


Shaka Sushi and Noodle Bar in Inlet Beach is a place to hang loose and be welcomed with positive vibes. Chef James Sargent, Chef Ken Duenas and Shaka’s culinary team, have created a menu that boasts righteous sushi rolls, ramen, small plates, and bento box entrees, and of course saké, wine and beer. The interior boasts a very clean and natural design with beautiful earthy elements – simple and beautiful, just like the sushi rolls that are created there.

Sushimoto is a family-owned restaurant located in Miramar Beach Plaza. The welcoming nature of the family and the outstanding sushi made it an overnight success. A huge following of locals and visitors, keeps this little hidden gem packed every day and night. The items other than sushi on the menu are out of this world. The teriyaki dishes are some of the best on the menu and prepared by a master chef with over 40 years of experience. Everything is fresh and the service is excellent. Stop by and grab a bite to eat – you won’t be disappointed.
