NEAT in Alys Beach Features Wine & Song, Friends & Fun

Our SoWal team recently headed down to NEAT in Alys Beach for their weekly Wine & Song event.

NEAT is a unique wine bar and bottle shop in Alys Beach that has been open since 2016. An instant hit, NEAT quickly expanded in 2017 to include a larger seating area in the Tasting Room. The Bottle Shop features a range of wines, beers and liquors, as well as high-quality bar tools, mixers, and glassware. The Tasting Room offers a selection of draft beers, wines by the glass, and specialty cocktails.

The cocktail list changes seasonally. This season, try out the 24K Goul’d, a vodka cocktail with mango, carrot, ginger and lime. Another specialty cocktail this fall is the Red Rum with Aperol, Turbinado simple syrup, lime, and lingonberry jam. In honor of the event, our group checked out the wine list. I ordered the Spanish cava, which was light, crisp, and delicious.

Not to be outshined, the food is just as unique and delicious. They offer a menu of light bites with a selection of gourmet charcuterie plates, savory dips, and flatbreads. The snack section of the menu is served all day, and the remaining small plates are available starting at 5 p.m.

I’ve been a fan of the hummus for a long time and it was as tasty as ever. We also tried the baked burrata bolognese with a warm baguette, a cheese plate, and the prosciutto de parma flatbread. The flat bread had roasted garlic, figs, arugula, manchego cheese & a vincotto paste. The flavors complemented each other perfectly and I can’t wait to have it again. We had so much fun passing our plates around sampling everything.

Wine & Song is every Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and offers wine tasting with a different vineyard each week and live music from local musicians. The wine tasting is $20 with special case deals on the wines that are featured. During the month of November, Neat will present boutique wines from Winebow and organic, biodynamically made wines from City Beautiful.
