Blue Mountain Beach is home to Local Catch Bar & Grill, a casual restaurant and bar where you can watch the game, listen to some music, or just be yourself and enjoy the company of others without breaking the bank.
This “locals joint” is the brain child of co-owners Adam Yellin and Jimmy Hasser who have turned the oft revolving landmark into a SoWal mainstay. Spend a little time here and it’s easy to see why! With its laid-back welcoming atmosphere, Local Catch is the ideal dining option for families and large groups.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Their culinary style can best be described as coastal cuisine with a southern twist. The family-friendly menu includes but is not limited to wings, bacon wrapped jalapenos, burgers, fresh catch of the day, shrimp and grits, po boys and grouper ceviche.
“The Sampler Platter is by far my favorite because it showcases most of what we do best, which is fresh seafood,” says Hasser. Adding that he “feels everyone must try our amazing salads and tacos, not just the po boys”.
Local Catch boasts an unparalleled selection of tacos – caribbean or fried shrimp, chimichurri steak, pork, fish or veggie. Yum! Chef Adam takes pride in keeping things simple, and in doing so is able to offer the customer a valuable restaurant quality… consistency. Local Catch truly has something for everyone, no matter what you’re craving.
Whether you’re on vacation, staycation, or dipping out of the office early, Local Catch is the place to be for Happy Hour. Monday thru Friday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., take advantage of $5 “you call it” liquor and house wines, as well as $1 off all beers. For the sports enthusiasts, the bar is lined with HD tvs and they even have a large screen on their covered porch outside. Between daily lunch specials, happy hour specials, and wing specials at football kickoff, you and your crew will have plenty of reasons to belly up to a table at Local Catch.
Live music is a huge part of Local Catch’s identity. On Sunday Funday, cars overflow from the parking lot and line the street as those in the know pack the building to satisfy their bellies and their souls with good food and good music. Each season brings celebration and special events. From Tacky Prom and Tacky Christmas Sweater parties to the annual Halloween Bash, the Local Catch Bar & Grill crew knows how to work hard and play hard!
