The Souh Walton Tourist Development Council (TDC) has named MC and Stella Davis as its 2012 Van Ness Butler Hospitality Award recipients. This award was first presented to Van Ness Butler Jr. in honor of his visionary leadership and the continuation of his family’s legacy in making South Walton a premier tourist destination.
The TDC now presents this prestigious award annually to a pioneer who has continued to enhance tourism in Walton County. A native of Northwest Florida, this years recipient was once quoted as saying, “he spent the first half of his life trying to get out of the woods and the second half trying to get back into them.”
MC and Stella Davis can now add recipient of the Van Ness Butler award to their extensive list of accomplishments, awards and acknowledgments. MC’s vision for South Walton and it’s alliance with the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center have really put South Walton among the premier eco-destinations in the country, if not the world. The old adage remains true that behind every great man is a great woman. Stella Davis is an amazing, dynamic and intelligent woman, who is equally responsible for the vision, commitment and constant care of the facility.
